Lets say the mugger ran for T hours before being caught.
200 meters = 0.2 km
ATQ, 12T = 10T + 0.2
Or, 12T - 10T = 0.2
Or, T = 0.1 hour
So, he ran = 10T = 10 x 0.1 = 1 km.
